GIRAFFE IN A BALLOON. By Jojoba Mansell

What's that up there?
Beyond that tree!
That thing up floating high,
am I crazy or do you see!

Is it a bird perhaps a plane?
Here it comes over the beck.
 What could it be
It has a huge, spotty neck.

Oh I know what it is,
It's floating toward the moon.
It's a giraffe from Africa,
And it's trapped in a balloon!

ELETELPHONY By Laura Richards.

Once there was an elephant,
Who tried to use the telephant -
No! No! I mean an elephant
Who tried to use the telephone -
(Dear me! I am not certain quite
That even now I've get it right.)

How it was, he got his trunk
Entangled in the telephone;
The more he tried to get it free,
The louder buzzed the telephee-
(I fear I'd better drop the song
Of elephop and telephone!)

MY FOOLISH DOG. Kathlene Bouzek. 2009

My dog is quite hip
Except when he takes a hip
He looks like a fool
When he jump in the pool
And reminds me of a sinking ship.

CHOCOLATE. By Rita Doveo

Velvet fruit exquisite square
I hold up to sniff
between finger and thumb

How you numb me
With your rich attentions!
If I don't eat you quickly,

You'll melt in wy palm.
Pleasure seeker if I let you
You'd liquefy everywhere.

Knotted smoke, dark punch
Of earth and night and leaf,
For a taste of you

Any woman would gladly
Crumble to ruin.
Enough chatter I am ready
To fall in love!

Ah! What a delight
You know you want it, right?
Go on, have a bite!

(A tribute to my mom's chocolate)

PEDRO THE PARANOID PIRHANA.

I'm Pedro the paranoid Pirhana
And I don't think that I'll see maniana
'Cos some of me mates
Want we on their plates
Washed down with a Pina Collada

I know by their glances so fleetin'
That there's evil intent in their greetin'
So I'm watchin' them
Watchin' me watchow' them
While I swallow the one that I'm eating.
